As you might suspect, the scope of my travels have been a bit limited lately, but in my quest to circle the globe for adventure, I felt compelled to start over with baby steps.\u00a0 I had previously mentioned that my first travel goal was to put together a trip to the end of my driveway.\u00a0 Well, I\u2019m here to tell you \u2013 mission accomplished!\u00a0<\/strong> As the attached photo shows, I have indeed summitted my driveway<\/strong>.\u00a0 How long it took me to overcome some of the obstacles along the way is immaterial.<\/p>\n With the \u2018driveway\u2019 box checked, I was looking for further adventures, while realizing my limitations, I was looking for something not too challenging.\u00a0 I then came across an article in the local newspaper that seemed to have my name all over it.\u00a0 The headline read, \u2018DONUT MUSEUM OFFERS VISITORS A SWEET TIME\u2019<\/strong>.\u00a0 Yes, that was roughly the kind of adventure I was looking for – a local doughnut museum – nothing too hard, but with a bit of whimsy.\u00a0 Having never been to a doughnut (I choose to use the proper spelling of the word) museum, I thought, \u201cwhat an adventure!\u201d\u00a0 It so happened that we had two of our grandchildren with us, Addison<\/strong> and Macklin<\/strong>, so with the grandkids in tow, Linda and I headed off to the Westminster Mall<\/strong> to visit the \u2018Donut Life Museum\u2019<\/strong>.\u00a0 Not sure where the \u2018Life\u2019 comes in, but I suppose it’s better than the Donut Death Museum.\u00a0 Addison remarked that she had never been to a museum before, and being a fan of doughnuts, she was really looking forward to sharing this adventure with me.<\/p>\n Addison, Linda & Mac giving it the ‘thumbs down’<\/p><\/div>\n I related some facts to our group that I had gleaned from the newspaper article that morning, to wit; Kathy Ly<\/strong>, along with cofounders, Alix Luu<\/strong> and Brian Ross<\/strong> \u201cwanted to create an experience that allows visitors of all ages to connect, spend quality time and make memories”.\u00a0 The goal of the museum is to be uplifting, with exhibits such as the \u201cDonut Forget Life is Limitless\u201d<\/strong> and \u201cLove Makes the World Hole\u201d<\/strong>. \u00a0The article also mentioned that at the end of the visitors\u2019 experience, everyone gets a Krispy Kreme<\/strong> donut.<\/p>\n We arrived at the \u2018Donut Life Museum\u2019 and I told the girl at the entrance that we\u2019d like to see the museum, as I looked in and saw that it was both empty and cheesy.\u00a0 She said, \u201cOK, it\u2019s $25 per adult and $17 for each child.\u201d\u00a0 Once I picked my jaw up off the floor, I said, \u201cSo you want $87<\/strong> for us to wander around in a room with some pictures of donuts hanging off the walls?\u201d\u00a0 She said, \u201cIt\u2019s interactive\u201d.\u00a0 I didn\u2019t bother to ask her what that meant, as we turned and walked away looking for the closest ice cream parlor.<\/p>\n Back at home, I wanted to get a clearer picture of exactly what the \u2018Donut Life Museum\u2019 had to offer and what we missed out on, so I searched YouTube<\/strong> and found that we made the right decision by opting for ice cream over doughnuts.<\/p>\n Here\u2019s some examples of the adventures one can have at the Donut Life Museum.<\/p>\n You could lay in a bin of plastic donuts and plastic donut holes and cover yourself with them.<\/p>\n You could have a photo taken of you looking through a heart-shaped doughnut hole<\/p>\n Or if you’re really wild and crazy you can have a photo of you sitting in a ‘donut pool’ or with a ‘donut tube’<\/p>\n If, after reading this, you’re getting that ‘doughnut vibe’, save yourself $87 and just go to Krispy Kreme and buy one . . . or more.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" by Bob Sparrow First, let me thank all those who have sent prayers and good wishes for me in my fight against Sepsis or whatever other infections have decided to take up residence in my body.\u00a0 Thank you so very … read more![\"\"](\"https:\/\/fromabirdseyeview.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/Thumbs-down-300x225.jpg\")
