{"id":10669,"date":"2022-03-14T09:00:54","date_gmt":"2022-03-14T16:00:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/fromabirdseyeview.com\/?p=10669"},"modified":"2022-03-12T07:06:33","modified_gmt":"2022-03-12T15:06:33","slug":"tips-for-stressful-times","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fromabirdseyeview.com\/?p=10669","title":{"rendered":"TIPS FOR STRESSFUL TIMES"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>By Suzanne Sparrow Watson<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/fromabirdseyeview.com\/?attachment_id=10674\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-10674\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-10674\" src=\"https:\/\/fromabirdseyeview.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/Handle-Stress-239x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"221\" height=\"278\" srcset=\"https:\/\/fromabirdseyeview.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/Handle-Stress-239x300.jpg 239w, https:\/\/fromabirdseyeview.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/Handle-Stress.jpg 430w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 221px) 100vw, 221px\" \/><\/a>Two years ago, on March 17th, 2020, I was at a dinner party with five friends.\u00a0 COVID, or as we said at the time, <strong>&#8220;a new flu&#8221;<\/strong>, had just started to take hold in the U.S.\u00a0 One friend asked, &#8220;What do you think we&#8217;ll be saying about this flu in two weeks?&#8221;\u00a0 We all agreed that it would peak and that by the end of the month things would be back to normal.\u00a0 Turns out that <strong>we were only off by two years<\/strong>.\u00a0 It&#8217;s been a stressful two years: important family gatherings were missed, friends died, and, in general, people became crabbier.\u00a0 A couple of weeks ago, just when life seemed to be back to normal, Putin decided to invade Ukraine.\u00a0 So now we wake each day <strong>wondering if World War III started<\/strong> while we slumbered. The images and stories coming out of Ukraine are horrifying.<\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;ve all been through a lot, so I thought this week I would offer some <strong>stress management advice<\/strong> and, hopefully, bring you a chuckle or two.\u00a0 God knows we need it.<\/p>\n<p>Stress Management Tips for 2022:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Stop being on time<\/strong>.\u00a0 The more you care about being late, the more you stress.\u00a0 So stop caring.\u00a0 If you lose your job, so much the better.\u00a0 Jobs are stressful.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Drink alcohol<\/strong>.\u00a0 You can&#8217;t stress about stuff if you&#8217;re drunk.\u00a0 So go ahead and grab that bottle of tequila and drink away.\u00a0 Aim for being inebriated 60% of your waking hours.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Yell at people who don&#8217;t deserve it<\/strong>.\u00a0 If you have followed step 2, this should come pretty easily.\u00a0 Never take responsibility for being a jerk.\u00a0 Accountability only makes you more anxious.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Pare down your possessions.<\/strong> This is essential.\u00a0 You no longer have a job and you have an alcohol addiction to support.\u00a0 See if you can fit all of your belongings in a backpack.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Spend more time outdoors<\/strong>.\u00a0 Without any means of income, this is good preparation for your future living arrangement.\u00a0 You are mere steps away from living under an overpass.\u00a0 You will alleviate any pressure to work or pay rent.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Make new friends<\/strong>.\u00a0 Ask strangers for their spare change.\u00a0 By now you have no job, no house and your tequila is running low.\u00a0 You&#8217;d be surprised how many people will throw a dollar bill your way.\u00a0 Hold up a sign that says, &#8220;Need money for gas&#8221; and you might double your income.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/fromabirdseyeview.com\/?attachment_id=10675\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-10675\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-10675\" src=\"https:\/\/fromabirdseyeview.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/desserts-300x300.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"159\" height=\"159\" srcset=\"https:\/\/fromabirdseyeview.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/desserts-300x300.png 300w, https:\/\/fromabirdseyeview.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/desserts-150x150.png 150w, https:\/\/fromabirdseyeview.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/desserts.png 630w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 159px) 100vw, 159px\" \/><\/a>Finally, if all else fails, I have two tips.\u00a0 First, <strong>eat cake<\/strong>.\u00a0 Yes, that is my remedy for every problem, but there is nothing like a good sugar high to make you feel better.\u00a0 Second, learn to <strong>handle stress like a dog<\/strong>: if you can&#8217;t eat it or play with it, pee on it and walk away.<\/p>\n<p>My prediction is that in two weeks the world will have calmed a bit.\u00a0 I hope I&#8217;m a lot more accurate this time.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Suzanne Sparrow Watson Two years ago, on March 17th, 2020, I was at a dinner party with five friends.\u00a0 COVID, or as we said at the time, &#8220;a new flu&#8221;, had just started to take hold in the U.S.\u00a0 &hellip;
