<\/a>It’s another blog about nothing!<\/p><\/div>\n
I think most of our readers know by now that both Suzanne and I love to write.\u00a0 This proclivity can have a downside, in fact, a disease called \u2018writer\u2019s block\u2019<\/strong>, with which I seem to be afflicted this week.\u00a0 So, I\u2019ve been pondering all facets of my life to come up with something intelligent and interesting.\u00a0 OK, intelligence has never been a criterion for getting into this blog.\u00a0 I did just return from a golf outing in Las Vegas<\/strong> last week where I completed the trifecta<\/strong>: I lost money at every game I played, I played three rounds of horrendous golf, and went way off my diet.\u00a0 So, forgive me for not wanting to revisit that memory.<\/p>\n I had another idea.\u00a0 A few weeks ago, I blogged about ChatGPT<\/strong>, an advancement in Artificial Intelligence that can write for you, among other things, an original Shakespearian sonnet<\/strong> to your loved one, which I saw demonstrated first hand.\u00a0 So, being desperate, I asked ChatGPT to write a ‘Bob Sparrow blog’<\/strong>.\u00a0 Chat GPT went on line, read all of my blogs and gleaned that I enjoyed travel, astronomy and music, so wrote a blog about me singing the song, \u2018Fly Me to the Moon\u2019<\/strong>.\u00a0 Like me, it tried to be funny, but mostly wasn\u2019t. \u00a0A Shakespearian sonnet it was not,<\/p>\n 3.1 million followers on Twitter!!<\/p><\/div>\n Then I thought about doing a \u2018Subscription Drive\u2019<\/strong> blog \u2013 to see if I could get more people to sign up for our fee-free blog.\u00a0 I see people like Harvey Weinstein<\/strong>, Derek Chauvin<\/strong>, Bill Cosby<\/strong> and Grand Wizard David Duke<\/strong>, with millions of followers, and we have less than 200 subscribers!!!<\/strong>\u00a0 One would think that after 13 years<\/strong> of never missing a Monday morning deadline to delight the public, that that number would be a lot higher, OK, maybe a little higher.\u00a0 I do know people who regularly read the blog, and make a positive comment to me in person, that are not subscribers.\u00a0 I sometimes casually mention to them that in the right-hand column in every blog there is a place to subscribe, but they are not sitting at their computer at the time, so it’s an easy thing to forget.\u00a0 I don\u2019t take it personally; I\u2019m thinking they just don\u2019t want any more \u2018junk mail\u2019 cluttering up their \u2018in box\u2019, I get it!<\/p>\n I could do a follow-up to my last blog, which showed our backyard in shambles, but it\u2019s still in shambles, but has progressed to the point where we are now second-guessing some of our decisions about pavers, stacked stone, coping, etc., but I\u2019ll wait until it\u2019s all done for a final judgement and a possible blog revisit.<\/p>\n “If the universe was created from nothing . . .”<\/p><\/div>\n With elections coming up either sooner than we\u2019d like, or not soon enough, we see a variety of sombreros being thrown into various proverbial rings.\u00a0 And while political rhetoric can sometimes be interesting, the \u2018bull shit meter\u2019 usually goes bonkers during these times, thus we here at \u2018From A Birdseye View\u2019<\/strong> find something else to write about.\u00a0 So rather than thinking of this blog as a Seinfeld episode about nothing, think of it as an abstention from opining on the current political climate.<\/p>\n One of the common refrains that Suzanne and I share with each other when we post a blog like this one is, \u201cWhat did they pay?\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0 inferring that they got what they paid for – nothing!
