known in &#8216;the industry&#8217; as EGOT!<\/p><\/div>\n<p>I like a good story well told, but I&#8217;ve never been a big fan of Hollywood types, so I don&#8217;t look forward to this time of year when our entertainers\/celebrities practically break their arms patting themselves on the back while red carpet hosts comment on &#8216;who&#8217; they are wearing.\u00a0 Yes, it\u2019s \u2018Awards Season\u2019 and here are a few you\u2019re probably familiar with, but believe me, there\u2019s lots more:\u00a0 <strong>Screen Actors Guild Awards, Critics Choice Award, GLAAD, NAACP Image Award, People\u2019s Choice, Golden Globes, Emmy, Tony, Grammy and Oscar<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>But, instead of taking the &#8216;easy pot shots&#8217; at this group of thespians for being self-centered snobs, which many of them are, I thought I\u2019d look for the smart, the charitable and the less self-centered of the group.\u00a0 And surprise, I found some..<\/p>\n<p>I first looked for actors\/actresses who are on the high end of the intelligence scale; so first, just in case you&#8217;re like me and not on the genius side of IQs, here&#8217;s the general rankings:<\/p>\n<p>120 -140 &#8211; Very Superior intelligence\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 110 -120 &#8211; Superior intelligence\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 90 &#8211; 90 &#8211; Dullness, rarely classifiable as feeble-minded\u00a0 \u00a0(typically where our politicians fall)<\/p>\n<p>So, here&#8217;s what I found . . .<\/p>\n<p><strong>Natalie Portman<\/strong> graduated from <strong>Harvard University<\/strong> with a degree in Psychology.\u00a0 She speaks <strong>five languages<\/strong> fluently and has co-authored 2 technical research papers in neuroscience, which were published in reputable journals<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_12363\" style=\"width: 204px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/fromabirdseyeview.com\/?attachment_id=12363\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-12363\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-12363\" class=\"wp-image-12363 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/fromabirdseyeview.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/Natalie.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"194\" height=\"259\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-12363\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Natalie Portman<\/p><\/div>\n<p><strong>Sharon Stone<\/strong> is reputed to have an IQ of around 150. Sharon was considered academically gifted as a child and entered the 2nd grade when she was five years old.\u00a0 She was admitted to University of Pennsylvania on a creative writing scholarship at age 15.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cindy Crawford<\/strong> has an IQ of about 150; studied <strong>chemical engineering<\/strong> on scholarship at Northwestern University.<\/p>\n<p><em>OK, let\u2019s let some guys into this club . . .<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>David Duchovny<\/strong> has an IQ around 150 and a degree in English literature from <strong>Princeton University<\/strong> and an M.A. in English literature from<strong> Yale University<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Ashton Kutcher<\/strong> has an IQ of 160 and was offered a scholarship to attend <strong>MIT<\/strong>, but didn\u2019t.\u00a0 He once said, \u201cThe sexiest thing in the entire world is being really smart.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>James Wood<\/strong> has an IQ of somewhere between 160 \u2013 180; he dropped out of <strong>MIT<\/strong> one semester short of graduating.\u00a0 He was going to be a surgeon before acting got in the way.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_12360\" style=\"width: 235px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"https:\/\/fromabirdseyeview.com\/?attachment_id=12360\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-12360\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-12360\" class=\"wp-image-12360 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/fromabirdseyeview.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/ken.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"225\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/fromabirdseyeview.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/ken.jpg 225w, https:\/\/fromabirdseyeview.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/ken-150x150.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-12360\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Ken Jeong<\/p><\/div>\n<p><strong>Ken Jeong<\/strong> was pre-med at <strong>Duke University<\/strong> before getting into acting, and then completed his medical degree at <strong>University of North Carolina<\/strong> at Chapel Hill in 1995.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Conan O\u2019Brian<\/strong> has an IQ of 160; he graduated from high school as valedictorian.\u00a0 He went to <strong>Harvard<\/strong> where he graduated <strong>magna cum laude<\/strong> in History &amp; Literature.<\/p>\n<p>Not an actor, but a rock star, who typically have similar personalities, Brian<strong> May<\/strong>, lead guitarist for the rock band\u00a0 <strong>Queen<\/strong>, has an IQ of around 170 and has a <strong>PhD in astrophysics.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>OK, so there are some smart entertainers, actually a lot more than I thought, but who\u2019s doing some good with their celebrity?<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Top of the list has to go to <strong>Taylor Swift<\/strong>; it\u2019s hard to pin down all that she donates, as it\u2019s $100,000 here and $1,000,000 there, and amounts she doesn\u2019t disclose for causes she believes in that need financial help.\u00a0 Class act!!!<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_12364\" style=\"width: 235px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/fromabirdseyeview.com\/?attachment_id=12364\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-12364\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-12364\" class=\"wp-image-12364 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/fromabirdseyeview.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/Taylor-Swift.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"225\" height=\"224\" srcset=\"https:\/\/fromabirdseyeview.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/Taylor-Swift.jpg 225w, https:\/\/fromabirdseyeview.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/Taylor-Swift-150x150.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-12364\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Taylor Swift<\/p><\/div>\n<p><strong>Oprah Winfrey<\/strong>, another noted \u2018giver\u2019 who has donated more than 40 million dollars through her Oprah Winfrey Foundation, to help women and children with education and health care around the world.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mel Gibson<\/strong> has given 10 million dollars to reimburse hospitals for health care given to children, as well as his contributions to Holy Family Catholic Church in the sum of over 15 million dollars.<\/p>\n<p><strong>George Clooney<\/strong> is known for donating generously to charity. He has given away millions of dollars to various causes, most notably to the <strong><em>Not On Our Watch <\/em><\/strong>charity, which works to prevent and stop genocide.
