{"id":12901,"date":"2024-09-30T08:00:18","date_gmt":"2024-09-30T15:00:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/fromabirdseyeview.com\/?p=12901"},"modified":"2024-09-29T14:40:38","modified_gmt":"2024-09-29T21:40:38","slug":"are-we-alone","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fromabirdseyeview.com\/?p=12901","title":{"rendered":"Are We Alone?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>by Bob Sparrow<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_12903\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"https:\/\/fromabirdseyeview.com\/?attachment_id=12903\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-12903\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-12903\" class=\"wp-image-12903 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/fromabirdseyeview.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/galaxy-1-300x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/fromabirdseyeview.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/galaxy-1-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/fromabirdseyeview.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/galaxy-1-1024x1024.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/fromabirdseyeview.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/galaxy-1-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/fromabirdseyeview.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/galaxy-1-768x768.jpg 768w, https:\/\/fromabirdseyeview.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/galaxy-1-1536x1536.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/fromabirdseyeview.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/galaxy-1-2048x2048.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-12903\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Just the Milky Way galaxy<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Haven\u2019t we all wondered at one time or another . . . are we alone?\u00a0 Yes, you may very well be alone while reading this blog and hopefully you were alone when you went to the bathroom this morning, but the graphic gives us the real intent of the question: Are we the only people in the universe, in all of space?<\/p>\n<p>If we include \u2018all of space\u2019, first we don\u2019t even have a clue as to how big \u2018all of space\u2019 is, but what we do know is that just in our <strong>Milky Way<\/strong> <strong>galaxy<\/strong>, there are trillions of planets with many of them orbiting stars just like our sun.\u00a0 And if you consider space beyond our galaxy, the odds are pretty good that there is intelligent life out there somewhere; and to complicate matters in our search for intelligent life, lately we\u2019re not even sure we can find intelligent life here on Earth!<\/p>\n<p>A comment from famous American-Italian and Manhattan Project physicist, <strong>Enrico Fermi<\/strong>, is one of my favorites when contemplating the mystery of intelligent life &#8216;out there&#8217;..\u00a0 After hearing how vast space is and the probable odds of having life out there somewhere, he said, <strong><em>\u201cWhere is everybody?\u201d<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0 This is known as the <strong>&#8216;Fermi Paradox&#8217;<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The process of \u2018looking for life\u2019 out there, includes first looking at how life on Earth began, which we&#8217;re really not sure about; we do know approximately <strong><em>when <\/em><\/strong>life started here on Earth (about <strong>4 billion years ago<\/strong>), but we don\u2019t know <em>how <\/em>it started!\u00a0 Which complicates things when looking for life elsewhere. It\u2019s been said that \u201cIf we played Earth\u2019s history again, the emergence of intelligent life as we know it, is actually somewhat <strong>unlikely<\/strong>.\u201d<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_12909\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/fromabirdseyeview.com\/?attachment_id=12909\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-12909\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-12909\" class=\"wp-image-12909 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/fromabirdseyeview.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/Apollo-12-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/fromabirdseyeview.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/Apollo-12-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/fromabirdseyeview.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/Apollo-12-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/fromabirdseyeview.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/Apollo-12-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/fromabirdseyeview.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/Apollo-12-1536x1152.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/fromabirdseyeview.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/Apollo-12-2048x1536.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-12909\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Apollo 12 astronauts<\/p><\/div>\n<p id=\"e16e\" class=\"pw-post-body-paragraph mu mv gu mw b mx my mz na nb nc nd ne nf ng nh ni nj nk nl nm nn no np nq nr gn bk\" data-selectable-paragraph=\"\">However, there is a story that claims that when <strong>Apollo 11<\/strong> reached the surface of the moon, <strong>Armstrong<\/strong> expressed astonishment at finding<strong> two unknown spacecraft<\/strong> already present on the moon. Armstrong further described these UFOs as being huge and lined up on the far side of the crater\u2019s edge observing the Earth.\u00a0 The theory originated from NASA\u2019s claim about losing transmission from Apollo 11 for roughly two minutes. Did Armstrong really see aliens during that time?\u00a0 <strong>Apollo 10 <\/strong>astronauts<strong>, Stafford, Young, and Cernan<\/strong> heard a certain whistling sort of music while circling the moon. The music lasted for almost an hour and creeped the living daylights out of the astronauts.\u00a0 The <strong>Apollo 12<\/strong> astronaut, <strong>Allen Bean<\/strong> saw a mysterious shining object on the moon.\u00a0 American astronaut <strong>Leroy Chiao<\/strong> was the commander of the <strong>International Space Station<\/strong> in 2005, after seeing a series of lights outside the ISS, claims he is 100 percent convinced he was visited by aliens.<\/p>\n<p data-selectable-paragraph=\"\">These are well-respected, educated men who did not just take up space in school.\u00a0 So, if we assume that we are being watched, let&#8217;s look at some of the theories of how &#8216;they&#8217; may be watching us:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>The <strong>\u2018Dark Forrest Theory\u2019<\/strong> says that the reason we can\u2019t see these alien civilizations is because they\u2019re all in hiding. Unlike humanity\u2014whose radio transmissions have long echoed throughout our local galactic neighborhood\u2014these societies have all concluded that it\u2019s simply too dangerous to broadcast their location to potentially hostile neighbors.<\/li>\n<li>The<strong> \u2018Snow Glob Theory\u2019<\/strong> says that yes, there are aliens, but they are so much more advanced than us, that they have no interest in watching us for very long. It\u2019s like looking at a snow globe and every once in a while, you\u2019ll turn it upside down to see something a little different, and then leave it alone.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a03. The <strong>\u2018Zoo Theory\u2019<\/strong> says that aliens can and are watching us with some interest, but are so much more advanced than we are, that they are really not bothering to interfere with our simple, mundane existence.
