– \u00a0For me 2014<\/strong> started here with the discovery, or rather the re-discovery, of \u2018The Tape\u2019<\/strong><\/em> \u2013 a mysterious offering from dearly departed, best friend,\u00a0Don of\u00a0Saudi Arabia<\/strong>, which has turned into an allegorical journey in search of . . . ? More discoveries are coming in 2015.<\/strong><\/p>\n – \u00a0I watched a car salesman, beaten and bloody, slink into his manager\u2019s office with his tail between his legs as Linda drove away in her new 2015\u00a0<\/strong>Chevy Y<\/strong>ukon<\/strong><\/p>\n – \u00a0In 2014<\/strong> I learned that Samoans<\/strong>, by any other name (even one as misleading as Caramel deLites<\/strong>) are still my favorite Girl Scout cookie<\/strong>, although I understand I\u2019ll be paying more for them in 2015<\/strong> \u2013 what a surprise!<\/p>\n Missing woman turns into a homicide<\/p><\/div>\n – \u00a0The case of missing Carley Scott<\/strong>, to which I was introduced by a hitch-hiker I picked up on the ‘Road to Hana’, turned into a homicide when Carley\u2019s jawbone and burned clothes were found by police. Ex-boyfriend, Steven Capobianco<\/strong> has gone from a \u2018person of interest\u2019 to being charged with murder. \u00a0Trial is set for sometime in 2015<\/strong>.<\/p>\n – \u00a0An economic forecast: I predict that 2015<\/strong> will find Reverse Mortgages<\/strong> moving F<\/strong>orward<\/strong>.<\/p>\n – \u00a0Independence Day<\/strong> (not the 4th<\/sup> of July!) revealed our founding fathers to be just as quirky as some of today\u2019s politicians, which is no easy task!<\/p>\n Trekking the Himalayas<\/p><\/div>\n – \u00a0If my adventure to South Africa<\/strong> in 2013<\/strong> was the \u2018Trip<\/strong>\u00a0of a Lifetime\u2019<\/strong>, then my adventure in\u00a0Nepal<\/strong>\u00a0and the Himalayas<\/strong> last year was the \u2018Trek of a Lifetime\u2019<\/strong> \u2013 it was a spectacular journey! I\u2019m glad many of you could join me vicariously through my daily posts. I am now frequently asked, \u201cHey, where are ‘we’ going next?\u201d Stay tuned.<\/p>\n – \u00a0It wasn\u2019t as foreign, but just as beautiful \u2013 that\u2019s the trekking through Glacier Nat’l Park, Yellowstone<\/strong>, and Alberta,<\/strong>\u00a0Canada<\/strong>\u00a0and our visit to neighbors the Nelsons<\/strong> at their second home on Flathead Lake, Montana<\/strong> this past summer. You\u2019re all probably wondering if after our encounter in Jackson Hole, WY,\u00a0<\/strong>if\u00a0Sandra Bullock<\/strong>\u00a0will ever leave me alone\u00a0. . . more on that later.<\/p>\n Is she still stalking me?<\/p><\/div>\n – \u00a0Earlier this year, while making a fool of myself at some of our \u2018local\u2019 tourist spots like Venice Beach<\/strong>, the Western White House<\/strong> and the Queen Mary<\/strong>, I missed my induction into the University of Utah Athletic Hall of Fame<\/strong> \u2013 it\u2019s just as well, it turned out that they had plenty of ‘red shirts’<\/strong> to clear the dishes and sweep up after.<\/p>\n – \u00a0Twenty fourteen concluded with a tribute<\/strong> to, and a debate<\/strong> with, my favorite sister, my favorite writing companion and simply one of my favorite people on this planet. \u00a0If you’re a regular you know she writes so well from the heart, while I tend to write from somewhere around the elbow, but whatever your preference,\u00a0I predict much more of the same coming from us in 2015.<\/strong><\/p>\n – \u00a0A big thank you to our regular readers in 2014\u00a0<\/strong>for enjoying our writing enough to encourage us to keep on doing it. Truth is, we\u2019d probably do it anyway, but you need to know that your comments, your ‘sharing’ and your subscriptions make it a labor of love for us.
