I would say she was right on with the comparisons of personality traits and ethnicity. I would add that the<strong> Irish<\/strong> and <strong>Germans<\/strong>\u00a0, which made up nearly <strong>60% of my DNA<\/strong>, have had a fairly friendly relationship over the years, perhaps a little too friendly during the Nazi regime. I would add that while the <strong>Irish<\/strong> and the <strong>Germans<\/strong> both make and like <strong>good beer,<\/strong>\u00a0but they differ dramatically when they\u2019ve had too many \u2013 the Irish start singing and the Germans invent a sensor for the automobile that will automatically turn on your windshield wipers when it starts to rain, or they&#8217;ll start a war. No wonder I&#8217;m constantly confused.\u00a0 As to not having much of a \u2018stiff upper lip\u2019, (only <strong>6% British<\/strong>) they say that\u2019s the second thing to go. I will amend one statement that Suzanne made, that being that our DNA tests affirmed <strong>\u201cone of us wasn\u2019t a product of mom and the milkman\u201d<\/strong>. However, there still remains the possibility that both of us are \u2013 as I recall we did have the same milkman for many years!<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>World Cup<\/u>:<\/strong> The subject of my blog a couple of weeks ago was about how little America knows or cares about the World Cup, especially since we couldn\u2019t even get in the tournament. <strong>Here\u2019s what I\u2019ve subsequently discovered over the last month:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Several diagonal runs behind the defense can be effective with a third man, not a mid-<a href=\"https:\/\/fromabirdseyeview.com\/?attachment_id=7456\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-7456\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-7456 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/fromabirdseyeview.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/Soccer-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/fromabirdseyeview.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/Soccer-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/fromabirdseyeview.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/Soccer-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/fromabirdseyeview.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/Soccer.jpg 900w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>fielder or a forward, but a defender breaking for the goal<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol start=\"2\">\n<li>A quick give-and-go, both static and moving opens up the defense<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol start=\"3\">\n<li>Switching the field of play gives a player more time and space<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol start=\"4\">\n<li>Many goal scoring opportunities occur as a result of a good counter attack<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol start=\"5\">\n<li>\u2018Overlaps\u2019 create opportunities for crosses<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>I have no idea what I just said; but I must confess that I ended up watching the final game between France and Croatia with my nephew, Gene, who along with wife Denise, was visiting from Minnesota, and actually understands soccer, saying he got into it when their son got into it . . . on video games.\u00a0 Gene was up at 6:00 a.m. on Sunday to watch all the pre-game ceremonies. I joined him at 7:30 and became interested in some of the back-stories of the players especially several of the guys from Croatia, who were refugees from their war-torn country.\u00a0 So with some personal information and Gene at my side to answer the multiple questions I had about the rules and strategies as to what was going on out on the &#8216;pitch&#8217;, I ended up actually enjoyed watching the final game.\u00a0Of course I was rooting for Croatia, who ended up losing the game 4-2.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0I am making a mental note to get involved earlier in the games next time in <strong>Qatar in 2022;\u00a0<\/strong>perhaps in four years the U.S. can find a way to earn a spot in the tournament.<\/p>\n<p><u><a href=\"https:\/\/fromabirdseyeview.com\/?attachment_id=7457\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-7457\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-7457 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/fromabirdseyeview.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/Rams-150x150.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"https:\/\/fromabirdseyeview.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/Rams-150x150.jpeg 150w, https:\/\/fromabirdseyeview.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/Rams.jpeg 225w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><\/a><\/u><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><u>Correction<\/u>: In the interest of never publishing <strong>\u2018Fake News\u2019<\/strong> and correcting errors in a timely manner; in my blog in <strong>April 2015,<\/strong> I predicted that <strong>L.A.<\/strong> would never have a professional football team.
