We all know the city of Las Vegas by several names,\u00a0\u2018Vegas\u2019,<\/strong> \u2018Sin City\u2019,<\/strong>\u00a0\u2018Lost Wages\u2019, <\/strong>to name a few,\u00a0and we know, or hope we know, that \u2018What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas\u2019 <\/strong><\/em>– except what I write in my blog.\u00a0 It is quite a city!\u00a0 While this desert oasis loves its reputation as a \u2018Gambling Mecca\u2019,<\/strong> a few years back it tried to sell itself as a \u2018family\u2019 destination, but the only family it attracted was the mafia<\/strong>. Recently, in an effort to look like other large cities in the U.S., it acquired an NHL hockey<\/strong> team, the Knights<\/strong>, and next season will have the\u00a0NFL’s\u00a0Oakland\/Los Angeles\/Oakland Raiders<\/b> \u2013 an apt place for this team and their irreverent fans.<\/p>\n But the reality is, Las Vegas, which means \u2018The Meadows\u2019<\/strong><\/em> is like no other city on the planet, which I just witnessed last weekend. We were there to enjoy our annual golf trip, some great meals (diet starts Monday . . . again), some great friends and a blockbuster Bruno Mars concert<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Although I’ve been there too many times to remember (as well as times I don\u2019t remember), the city never ceases to amaze me, as it might you as you read through these little known, and even less cared about, fact of \u2018Sin City\u2019.<\/p>\n Celine Dion<\/p><\/div>\n win.<\/li>\n Denny’s Pancake Wedding Cake<\/p><\/div>\n cake along with a Grand Slam breakfast<\/strong>.
